Job Overview
We currently have great opportunities across our manufacturing sites for experienced upholsterers, to work as part of our skilled and dependable upholstery team, contributing to the production of crafted upholstered furniture to the correct specification and quality standards.
The position plays a key role and is perfect for anyone who wants a varied and rewarding opportunity, in a physically active role in a fast-paced environment.
What you will be doing
Working as part of a team, using a variety of skills and methods in the manufacturing of quality domestic upholstered furniture from pre-upholstery to the finished product.
Desired Skills / Experience
First class modern upholstery techniques including:
Ability to work with numerous fabrics
Using varied cutting techniques
Using various compressed air tools
Good maintenance of tools
Skilled stapling techniques
Quality webbing application techniques
Quality spring application
Delivering best in class finishing quality using various techniques including seam turning, clearing ends & tack drag
Keen eye for detail with knowledge of defects & detection
Good communication skills and the ability to work both as part of a team and on own initiative
Ensuring high quality standards in all that you do
Taking pride in what you do with a ‘right first time’ mentality
Ensuring good housekeeping and cleanliness of working area
Maintaining and promoting safe working standards with an absolute commitment to your own and others' safety
