Our Story
Whitemeadow first began with a passion for upholstery and a small site right in the middle of the UK. Over thirty years later, we’ve successfully scaled to operate out of four sites with over 350,000ft ² of production, development and design space.
We’ve grown to become the UK’s leading upholstery manufacturer, backed by the agility and freedom to offer flexibility and pace to our partners. You’ll find our product up and down the nation, as we supply to many of Britain’s Blue-Chip high-street names and independent retailers.

Whitemeadow is officially founded, and our first ever product is created.

We scale up, opening our second site (Export Drive), taking us to a combined footprint of 95,000ft2.

We launched the ‘Delta’ model with DFS, a swift success that quickly became our best-selling loose cover model.

We celebrate another successful product launch: the ‘Dillon’ model with Sofa Workshop. This became our best-selling frame within our business, and is still used in some products today. We also launched our first ever bed collection.

A milestone moment for Whitemeadow – a record one million products sold across the UK.

Whitemeadow became an official sponsor of The Furniture Makers Company – our industry’s leading charity.

Our bespoke built Design & Development Centre opened, accelerating our in-house design service. We also launched our sister business, The Branded Furniture Company, an innovative business that brings brands to life through furniture.

We acquired our largest ever manufacturing unit (Langham Park), adding an impressive 167,000 ft to our footprint. During the same year, we officially became the first manufacturer in our industry to achieve FSC certification.

Whitemeadow celebrates 30 years in business, and we’re officially recognised as the largest privately owned upholstery manufacturer in the UK.
At JFS 2024, we were presented with the Design & Innovation award, an accolade to be proud of. We also gained ISO accreditation, verifying that we meet internationally recognised standards for quality and consistency.
