About the job
Reporting to the Head of IT, as part of a small team, you will be responsible for supporting our main ERP system that has been bespoke developed in-house. This is a varied role in that you could be investigating script steps to locate a fault, developing new functionality, working on integrations, or creating completely bespoke systems. The breadth of the role is vast and may also include assisting building and interfacing third-party apps, working on API’s or integrating with web-based systems.
During an exciting period of growth at Whitemeadow, projects are underway to rebuild the current solution into a more modern build and add further functionality, completely redefining the structure of the data, interfacing with and utilising third-party apps or creating our own. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a big transformation programme as we lead the way with providing innovative digital solutions for the business.
As the solution you will be supporting is bespoke, full training can be provided, but a good understanding of relational databases and data structure is essential.
What you will be doing
Take ownership of tickets logged by internal users, or escalated from the helpdesk team, until resolution
Assist with development in adding new functionality or improving existing processes
Build a deep understanding of the business needs from a data and application perspective
Maintain and develop integration as required
What we are looking for?
You should have a good understanding of software design and data structures, programming experience preferable
You should have an aptitude for problem solving
You will need to be able to demonstrate an interest and aptitude in software programming and the ability to learn database design principles quickly and to a high level
The ability to work with users and be able to explain new processes
Experience of SQL would be beneficial
Experience of REST API would be beneficial
Any manufacturing industry and/or ERP experience would be highly advantageous
