Placement Overview

We launched our sewing school in 2019 to help address the challenge of finding the next generation of skilled upholstery sewing machinists. All participants receive on-the-job training in all aspects of sewing fabrics required to make our range of sofas and other furniture.

Working in conjunction with Webs Training Ltd these opportunities provide a combination of both on and off the job training whilst earning national living wage with an opportunity to earn a production related bonus.

All those who pass the course will be offered a full time role in one of our production sites.

What you'll learn

• Cut Fabrics and Components

• Sewn / Seamed Components by hand and using a variety of machinery: overlock, lockstitch and twin needle

• Produce templates for use with pattern matched fabrics

• Measure and cut fabric; sew components to produce customer’s orders: scatters, bolsters, body work and cushions
